GVK’s Mumbai Airport operationalises ‘SAGA’ to enhance safety & efficiency
~ Real-time situational awareness over aircraft & ground vehicle movements
~Further strengthens safety & efficiency of operations
The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA) managed by GVK Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) successfully operationalized ALTYS Technologies’ airport surface surveillance solution, SAGA, for operational safety and efficiency. The technology was under testing since November 2017
Mr Rajeev Jain, CEO – MIAL, said, “As one of the world’s leading airports, Mumbai Airport has always embraced technological innovations to provide passengers a seamless experience. The operationalisation of SAGA will further enhance safety through real-time monitoring of aircraft and vehicle movements at the operational areas. Operating Mumbai Airport is a huge responsibility and technological innovation aids in operating it with efficiency and enhanced safety.”
“One of the main reasons of this successful implementation is that ALTYS worked closely alongside key personnel at MIAL throughout the requirements analysis, design process and preliminary evaluation phase to ensure the solution responds effectively and extensively to the end-users’ needs” said Kanaan Abdo, ALTYS’s CTO.
Together with the deployment of an airport surface and terminal area surveillance infrastructure, SAGA provides the airport operator with real-time situational awareness over aircraft and ground vehicles movements, improving safety and efficiency of operations, in all weather conditions and peak traffic hours.
The SAGA provides MIAL with detailed insight into operational performance, with a number of advanced statistical reports and alarm features. It calculates and automatically updates the AODB with a number of A-CDM KPIs, such as actual landing times, in-block and off-block times, taxi times, Runway Occupancy Times of individual aircraft, and many more. It also includes a replay mode for incident investigation.
SAGA’s modern software architecture allows easy configuration of multiple user profiles that can be displayed simultaneously enabling it to be easily distributed over both JCC working positions and management positions with different features.
Based in Toulouse, France, ALTYS Technologies is a supplier of data link, surveillance and airport solutions. SAGA is a cost-effective and integrated airport surface surveillance and operational performance monitoring solution suitable for all categories of airports, including regional platforms, thanks to its easy deployability, high scalability and interoperability with legacy surveillance, airport and ATC systems.
